Pamela Danner

Ms. Danner is a principal of her law firm, Danner & Associates, in McLean, Virginia. Her practice is concentrated in full service business and trade association representation, and estate planning. Prior to establishing her own law firm in 1992, she was a partner with Ross & Hardies, a Chicago-based law firm, where she helped establish the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.

From 2014 through August 2018, Ms. Danner was Administrator of the Office of Manufactured Housing Programs of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) where she was responsible for all construction standards relating to manufactured housing nationwide and their enforcement. From 1982 through 1984, Ms. Danner was first the Director of the Office of Manufactured Housing and Construction Standards. Then, she was appointed Director of the Office of Manufactured Housing and Regulatory Functions. In this position, she administered four major housing programs: Title I Insured Loans, Manufactured Housing, Minimum Property Standards and Technical Suitability of Products, and Land Sales Registration. Previously, Ms. Danner had served as an attorney with the Office of General Counsel of HUD.

In private practice, Ms. Danner has represented a wide range of clients, including national and state trade associations concerning federal and state regulatory and land use issues. She has filed amicus briefs on behalf of her clients on critical national issues before the U.S. Supreme Court. She has participated in litigation in Indiana, Kentucky, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.

In 1977, Ms. Danner earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. As a law student, she was third year editor for the Georgetown International Law Journal, Law and Policy in International Business. She earned a M.A. from the American University School of International Service and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Purdue University. She attended Madrid University her junior year and is fluent in Spanish.

Ms. Danner is a member of the Virginia, Indiana and District of Columbia Bars. She served four years on the District of Columbia's Building Code Advisory Committee engaged in updating the District's construction codes. She was appointed by HUD Secretary Kemp to serve as a member of the National Manufactured Home Advisory Council.

Ms. Danner was appointed to the Fairfax County Water Authority Board from 1992 - 2004. She served as Chair of its Water Quality Committee and served on its Finance Committee. She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives Legal Section and has served on its Legal Council. She has served as the Chair of the Dranesville Area Plan Review Task Force and on the Dranesville Transportation Spot Improvement Task Force.

Ms. Danner is a graduate of the 1993 Leadership Fairfax Class and is an active member of many business and professional associations, including the McLean Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club of McLean, and McLean Estate Planning Council. She taught the course “Nonprofit Legal Issues” as Adjunct Professor, in the School of Business Administration, Marymount University, Summer 2012 Semester.

Ms. Danner has been actively involved in her community for almost 40 years. She was elected to the McLean Community Center Governing Board from 1986-92; She has served as President of the Rotary Club of McLean 2004-2005; on the Tyson’s Corner Land Use Task Force, and as President of the McLean Community Foundation. She currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the McLean Project for the Arts, and as President of the McLean Rotary Club Foundation.
