McLean Community Foundation, formerly McLean Citizen Foundation
In June 2009, Ms. Danner was elected to serve as President of the McLean Community Foundation (MCF). The MCF is a charitable organization that reaches out to the McLean Community by funding projects that serve its citizens. In October, MCF sponsored the Children's Art Walk at the McLean Project for the Arts' Artfest. The MCF is sponsoring the upcoming McLean WinterFest, Mclean's only Community Parade, to be held on December 6th at 4:00pm.
Danner Named Dranesville District's Lady Fairfax
In June, 2008, Dransville Supervisor John Foust named Pamela Beck Danner as Lady Fairfax. This tradition, begun in 1984, recognizes outstanding citizens of Fairfax County who have demonstrated exceptional volunteering, heroism, or other special accomplishments. Supervisor Foust said he chose Danner as his Lady Fairfax for her long resume of involvement in the local community, as well as her 12 years on the County Water Authority Board, where she served as the board's secretary and as chair of its Water Quality Committee. "She's been involved in just about every organization of imporance in McLean, " said Foust.
Ms. Danner Appointed to Tysons Corner Study Coordinating Committee
In July 2005, Dranesville Supervisor DuBois appointed Pamela Danner as the McLean Chamber of Commerce's representative on the Tysons Corner Special Study Coordinating Committee. This Coordinating Committee is chaired by former Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, Kate Hanley. The mission of the Coordinating Committee is to update the Comprehensive Plan to: promote more mixed use; better facilitate transit-oriented development; enhance pedestrian connections throughout Tysons Corner; increase the residential components of the density mix; improve the functionality of Tysons Corner; and provide for amenities and aesthetics, such as public spaces, parks, public art, etc. The scope of the Committee's charge is to: focus on transit nodes; fold the Area Plan Review (APR) nominations into the Coordinating Committee's process; ensure that transportation impacts are addressed; and help define the future of Tysons Corner.
Ms. Danner Voted One of Virginia's Legal Elite
Ms. Danner was selected as one of Virginia's Legal Elite for 2006. In cooperation with the Virginia Bar Association, Virginia Business polled thousands of Virginia attorneys asking for nominations of fellow professionals whom they consider the very best in 13 practice categories. Ms. Danner was selected in the Labor/Employment practice area.
Ms. Danner Appointed Escheator by Governor Warner
Effective October 3, 2002, Ms. Danner was appointed by Governor Warner to serve as the Escheator for the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit.
